Create a desktop shortcut for an Office program or file. When the Microsoft Office programs are installed, you have the choice to create a desktop shortcut for the individual Office programs. However, if you don't create a desktop shortcut at the time that you install Office then decide that you want a desktop shortcut later, you can easily.
Every month or so, my recent and pinned files disappear from Excel. Just happened with Word as well. It has happened many times before - I'm assuming it has to do with some type of automated Microsoft update (will Microsoft ever learn about the frequent critical updates - I hated it with Windows and why I use a Mac now). There are three categories of apps that might be pinned to a taskbar: Apps pinned by the user. Default Windows apps, pinned during operating system installation (Microsoft Edge, File Explorer, Store) Apps pinned by the enterprise, such as in an unattended Windows setup. To install Office, try signing in directly to the Office 365 Software page instead. Select the language and bit-version you want (PC users can choose between 32-bit and 64-bit), and then click Install. See Steps 2 and 3 on the PC or Mac tabs above to help you with the rest of the install process.
