- May 28, 2013 With the recent release of Skype 4.0 for Linux, I have been wondering if there will be a port of further Microsoft products to the Linux desktop environment, namely a port of Microsoft Office. Given that MS Office for Mac is essentially a BSD port, I believe it should be possible? Any chance of MS Office running natively on Linux?
- Microsoft on Friday announced that it plans to release a new version of Office for Mac next year, with a beta version to be launched in the first half of 2015 and the full release set for the second half of the year. The company also announced that Mac users can now download.
Office for Mac that comes with an Office 365 subscription is updated on a regular basis to provide new features, security updates, and non-security updates. The following information is primarily intended for IT professionals that are deploying Office for Mac to the users in their organizations.

Office 2016 for Mac is a version of Office that’s available as a one-time purchase from a retail store or through a volume licensing agreement. It will be supported with security updates and bug fixes, as needed, until October 13, 2020. The minimum supported macOS for Office 2016 for Mac is 10.10 (Yosemite).
